A campaign to raise awareness for screening of skin cancer will kick off Monday, November 16 of this year in Washington DC.

There are 3 main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.

Melanoma is the most deadly form of skin cancer. If detected in its earliest stages, it is highly curable. However, once melanoma has spread from its site of origin, it can spread quickly throughout the body.

It is important that individuals speak with their healthcare providers about including skin cancer screening as part of their regular healthcare.
